Dates for tutorials

We will meet every Friday as long as we can arrange a classroom the first tutorial will be on
3rd June  1pm -3pm
10th June 4- 6pm

The 3rd of June we will look at the first scenario which is the breathless patient and or Left VF.
I would suggest you look at the following structure  to help you study in a logical sequence

  • Normal pathophysiology - abnormal pathophysiology
  • Signs and symptoms of the disease /condition specific
  • Nursing care of the signs and symptoms and patient care which relates back to pathophysiology
  • Drug interventions what medications commonly found in the treatment of condition specific and why
  • Route of administration, normal drug dose and side effects of these drugs
  • What are their actions and  how do they help the patient
  • What is the nurses role in this - i.e. being aware of the drug interaction and being able to deal with side effects or note if the drug is not effective
  • Investigations the patient maybe sent for and why and the nurses role in this
  • Medical adjuncts being able to explain what these are
